I remember I always could see the process of the download of a file, like see how long is left till the download is finished in firefox. But now, everytime i download something, only when the dowdownload manager firefoxnload process is finished, then there will be a prompt whether you wanna download the file or not. Then only the download manager will appear.

Look in Edit:Preferences or Toolsdownload manager firefox:Options, and see if "Show the Download window when downloading a file" is checked.
you can try to fix it how- try to uninstall your download manager and install it again after a restart.
