Basically I'm a Non drinker.But on rare occassions when I take I love Red wine. Mostly I drink a bit during long hauled flights just to get some sleep ...i often have to travel a lot and BOY its so difficult to sleep out there especially for INSOMNIACS like us. Now I dont know why but whenever I take Red wine I just think of this song below which is again one of my UB40 favorite:

White - Seafood, white meats (chicken and pork).
Red - Red meat, red sauces (spaghetti), highly seasoned food.

I like red wine ,but with food I prefer white..I don't drink much at all anymore either, but wine is also good for you so I try to drink a few glasses a year.
Red wine is a plus, but, If you're a non-drinker. You might wanna start out with a White Zinfandel or a White Merlot ... these are botyoutube red red wineh blush wines and pretty much mix with everything out there.

White wines usually mix well with light and white sauce dishes

Red Wine is for more filling, heavy and red sauce dishes.

personaly, I go for white, but everyone has their own taste.
The tannins in red white give me migraines, but that's just me. Drink what you like.
